We are responsible for the personal information described here. In data protection language, we are the controller.
What this site collects
Nothing, unless you use the contact form.
This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics. It loads no fonts, images, scripts, trackers or embeds from anyone else's servers. There is no advertising pixel and no session recording. If you read this page and leave, we do not know you were here.
The one thing this site stores on your device is your choice of light or dark appearance, so the page looks the same when you come back. It is a single setting, it stays in your browser, and it is never sent to us.
Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server records of requests to the site, in the same way every web server does. These can include your IP address and browser type. We do not look at them, we do not link them to anything, and we cannot identify you from them.
If you use the contact form, we receive:
- your name
- your organisation, if you give it
- your email address
- what your enquiry is about, from the list on the form
- your message, if you write one
That is the whole list. The form sends nothing else about you: only an empty box that catches automated spam, which real visitors never see or fill in, and a label that tells our host which form was sent.
Why we use it
To reply to you. That is the only reason.
We do not add you to a mailing list. We do not send you anything you did not ask for. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with investors, partners or anyone else for their own purposes.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you chose to send us. Where you ask us for the pitch deck or a technical discussion, we also use your information to take the steps you asked for.
Who else handles it
Three suppliers sit in the path between you and us. They handle your information on our instructions and not for their own commercial purposes.
- Netlify, Inc. hosts the site and receives what you send through the form. Netlify is a United States company.
- Google provides our email, through Google Workspace. Your enquiry, and our reply to it, sit in a Google mailbox. Google is a United States company and processes data in the United States and in other countries.
- A spam-filtering service, engaged by Netlify rather than by us, screens every form submission before it reaches us. It is run by a United States group and stores data on servers around the world. It keeps spam-related data for between two weeks and ninety days, and it uses content marked as spam to improve its own filter. Netlify names the service in its published documentation, and we will tell you which it is if you ask.
So the order is this: your submission reaches Netlify, Netlify has it checked for spam, and the notification and everything that follows sit with Google.
Nobody else sees what you send us.
Where your information goes
We are in the DIFC. Our suppliers are outside it, and outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. So if you are in the UK or the EEA, your information leaves your own region when you contact us.
We rely on the contractual protections these suppliers offer for international transfers. If you want to know more about them, write to us at the address below and we will tell you.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry, and our replies to it, for as long as we have a reason to.
The reason is the conversation. While it is live, we keep it. After it goes quiet, we keep it while there is still a realistic prospect of picking it up again, and while we might need it to answer a question about how we dealt with you. Once neither of those is true, we delete it, from our email and from the form records both.
We have not set a fixed number of months. An enquiry can sit dormant and then matter again, so we would rather give you the test we apply than a number that only looks precise.
If you want it deleted sooner, write to contact@nebulalab.ae and we will do it. If there is a legal reason we have to keep something, we will tell you what it is.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of what we hold about you
- correct it if it is wrong
- delete it
- stop using it, or limit how we use it
- send it to you or someone else in a portable form
Write to contact@nebulalab.ae and we will deal with it. There is no charge and we will reply within one month.
If you think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to the DIFC Commissioner of Data Protection. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you can complain to your own data protection authority instead.
Security
Everything you send through the form travels over an encrypted connection. Access to submissions is limited to the founders of Nebula Technology Lab Limited.
We are a small company. We are telling you what we actually do, not describing a security programme we do not have.
Changes
If we change this notice we will change the date at the top. If we change something that matters, we will say what changed.
